The Coolaroo Dog Bed

Coolaroo dog beds are different in design from most dog beds, as they sit up off the ground some six or seven inches, like a cot.

This design makes them cooler in the summer. In the winter, if the bed is out of doors, being off the ground provides protection from frozen or cold ground. You can simply add an old blanket or a fleece dog bed for greater warmth in very cold climates; if your Coolaroo dog bed is indoors, the warmth of the air inside your house may be plenty warm to keep your dog comfy.

Of course, dogs vary in how much additional bedding they like, depending on their coats, their sizes, their ages, and even their personalities.

The word Coolaroo is the the name of a patented kind of fabric which is resistant to fleas and other bugs as well as to mold and mildew. It is a very durable fabric which incorporates countless tiny holes into its design, allowing for air flow right up to the dog. You might think that all those tiny holes would weaken the fabric but it doesn’t work that way.

This fabric is easy to clean. You don’t even need to throw it in the washing machine — you can just hose it off outside or rinse it off in your bathtub. You can brush any dog hair off easily. It’s fine to get the steel bed frame wet, as it will dry quickly. You could even give your dog a bath right on the bed!

These beds come in large, medium, and small sizes and in several different colors. Replacement covers are available at low cost.
