The Memory Foam Dog Bed
The memory foam dog bed is an excellent choice for any dog who loves comfort — which is just about all of them — or who needs good support while sleeping.
Perhaps you have had the opportunity to sleep on a memory foam bed. I have had two such beds and wouldn’t go back to anything else. Now our dogs can also have the same level of comfort and support, as the memory foam dog bed is widely available online.
If you aren’t familiar with memory foam, it is foam that pushed down where your weight is when you are lying on it, giving you a very comfortable support, but then when you get up it reverts to its original shape. This may sound like regular foam to a degree, but this stuff really works this way to an amazing extent. When we got our first memory foam bed, I pushed my hand down into the foam with the fingers spread apart, then removed my hand to see the outline of the fingers which quickly disappeared.
This is really good for dogs because the memory foam dog bed can help ease any joint pain that a dog might feel from arthritis or hip dysplasia, as it eliminates pressure points in the bed. It’s also good to use for younger dogs who don’t necessarily suffer from these ailments, as it may make it less likely that they will later on. Besides, what dog doesn’t adore being as comfortable as possible for those many hours a day they like to sleep?
Now memory foam dog beds are often a little more expensive than the very cheapest beds, but really inexpensive beds made from cheap foam do tend to crush flat and thus provide relatively little support.
These memory foam beds have become so popular for dogs that they can be found online with a wide variety of fabric covers so you can shop for color and design as well as type of fabric and shape. Many are rectangular but you will also see them round. Sometimes you will see the foam described as high density memory foam. If you have a young puppy that is destroying everything in sight, do be aware that eating foam isn’t recommended, but once you get past that stage, a memory foam bed is an ideal choice in my mind for just about any dog!
